Are You Doing All That You Could Be Doing To Avoid Dementia?

Posted by on

Until recently, it was widely believed that folks had no way to avoid becoming victims of Alzheimer’s disease or of other forms of dementia — that, if you were fated to lapse into dementia, you were just unlucky and you couldn’t fight its onset.

Recent research. However, suggests that three personal strategies can improve your odds of avoiding Alzheimer’s and/or other types of dementia:

  • Keep on learning NEW things, to exercise your brain.
  • Keep your blood pressure healthy; don’t let it creep higher.
  • Exercise a reasonable amount, frequently.

It’s been found that ‘cognitive training’ — making your brain work as you master new activities — can help you to ward off dementia. Your brain, it seems, needs exercise just as your muscles do. You could, for instance, learn to speak and read a new language, or learn to play chess, or do hard crossword puzzles, or take up piano lessons, or get involved in volunteer work of some kind. Or even write blogs! Or, pick your own moderately challenging activity that you’ve always wanted to do, but never felt that you really had the time to do, and start actually doing it.

High blood pressure is well known to be a leading cause of strokes, and strokes kill brain cells by cutting off their blood supply. Thus, strokes can precipitate dementia or worsen pre-existing dementia. People need to become more proactive about keeping their blood pressure within healthy limits, particularly during their ‘prime of life’ years from age 35 to age 65. It has long been thought that 120/80 is ‘perfect’ blood pressure, but there is now some expert opinion that even somewhat lower than that may be better. High blood pressure is, of course, also bad for the heart and for various other bodily organs. And it’s believed that about one out of every six folks who have a stroke will go on to develop Alzheimer’s, or some other type of dementia.

Exercise – Even mild non-gym-workout exercise, increases heart rates, thereby increasing blood flow to brains. More blood flow to brains nourishes brain cells with nutrients and oxygen, keeping them healthy; it also boosts the development of new brain cells. Healthier brain cells, and more of them, should consequently reduce the risk of developing any type of dementia. People can look for ways to get a little extra exercise during their everyday activities: for instance, taking stairs instead of escalators or elevators, parking less close to the buildings during errands, just walking for close-by errands instead of driving, and getting off transit buses a couple of stops away from their actual destinations. Such ordinary exercises can exercise the brain as well as various other muscles, thereby keeping them all healthier and lowering the risk of developing dementia.

Some other recent research study results:

  • If one’s parents are still living, being kind to them can help them ward off dementia.

Living next to busy streets or roads can increase one’s risk of developing dementia. Who knew?

And you can look into taking CLE Holistic Health Alistrol to benefit your blood pressure, and also CLE Holistic Health Naavudi to help you stay slimmer. Alistrol and Naavudi are vegetarian herbal health supplements, not drugs. Both are blended from various herbal extracts that have been used by traditional healers for millennia in Indian Ayurvedic, Chinese, Japanese, and Pacific Islander medical practice; Alistrol operates to alleviate high blood pressure, and Naavudi helps to mitigate excessive blood glucose (“blood sugar”). The extracts from four different herbs go into CLE Alistrol; CLE Naavudi is comprised of extracts from nine different herbs.

Medical researchers are now clinically testing several of these ancient herbs, and some positive results have been reported. Both Alistrol and Naavudi are offered as vegetarian capsules, 500-milligram and 550-milligram respectively, produced from herbs that have been grown organically on CLE’s own farmland plots; and, that have been harvested and processed and packaged entirely by CLE employees, using CLE’s proprietary methods, in order to achieve superior levels of quality, purity, and uniformity. Neither Alistrol nor Naavudi is known to have any interaction with prescription medicines, so you can try one or both of them without otherwise changing your medicinal regimen. So, how about checking out Alistrol and/or Naavudi?
